EIGHT OF WANDS
An actress leaves for a journey through Europe together with a cinematographer, The Waste Land and a deck of cards. When they reach the Azores Islands she decides to consult the Tarots. The reading doesn’t look any good: obsession and matter chaining you to the ground, halted outbursts and prudence. And yet, feeling there is still a hidden path to follow, she decides to defy the gloomy omens through the documentary film they are shooting, improvising day by day. And then, little by little, the frames seem to start playing the role of cards in a cinematic deck of Tarots. Through film-making and choreography she attempts to come to terms with the pattern of fate. As an invocation, a ritual, a challenge. When she returns home she will present to the world a different response, perhaps even more sibylline, her own.
